Wilfred Gual is a passionate and dedicated advocate, helping clients navigate complex litigation and employment law matters.

Prior to joining Downey Brand, Wilfred was a criminal defense attorney at the Alameda County Public Defender’s Office, advocating on behalf of indigent clients. During his time at the public defender’s office, Wilfred managed hundreds of felony and misdemeanor cases through all stages of litigation, including arraignments, investigations, pre-trial negotiations, preliminary hearings, trials, and sentencing hearings.

In his current practice, Wilfred takes a tailored approach with each client to find logical solutions to questions involving California’s employment and labor laws. Wilfred draws from his creativity and litigation experience to help clients understand and manage the many complexities of California’s ever-changing employment laws.

Wilfred grew up in Queens, New York. In his free time, he enjoys relaxing while pairing a good cup of coffee with a delightful pastry, listening to music, and exploring California with his wife and their puppy, Nate.
