Cristo Rey High School

The start of the new school year means Downey Brand is welcoming four Cristo Rey students into our ranks. Cristo Rey is a college preparatory school that provides a quality education for youth from low-income families. Their unique Work Study program pairs students with businesses like Downey Brand that help to pay their tuition and teach responsibility and professional skills. Former SMUD general manager joins Downey Brand
Former SMUD general manager, Jan Schori, has joined Downey Brand's Climate Change and Sustainability practice. Schori announced she was leaving the Sacramento Municipal Utility District late last year after serving the longest tenure as general manager in the utility's operating history. SMUD is the nation's sixth largest publicly owned utility. During her tenure, Schori developed a national reputation as a leader on public power issues and the movement toward renewable and sustainable energy. Downey Brand's Climate Change and Sustainability group works with clients on air quality, corporate, real estate, water, energy, land use and environmental issues.
