California Water Law & Policy Reporter, Volume 34, Number 10
On May 31, 2024, the Yolo County Superior Court found that the final Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the Sites Reservoir Project (the Project) complied with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and its guidelines. Six non-profit organization (the Organizations) challenged the EIR on a number of grounds, including that the Sites Project Authority (Authority) relied on an inaccurate environmental baseline, failed to consider a reasonable range of alternatives, inadequately described the environmental setting of the Project area, and provided an inaccurate project description. The court rejected all of the Organizations’ arguments and denied the petition for writ of mandate.
