California Tribes and Environmental Justice Organizations Submit Petition to the State Water Board for Rulemaking Review of Bay-Delta Water Quality Control Plan

On May 24, 2022, a coalition of California tribes and Delta-based environmental justice organizations, including Save California Salmon, Restore the Delta, Winnemen Wintu Tribe, Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians, and Little Manila Rising (collectively; Coalition), submitted a Petition for Rulemaking Review (Petition) to the State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board). The Coalition’s Petition seeks that the State Water Board update and enforce the Water Quality Control Plan for the San Francisco Bay/Sacramento-San Joaquin Estuary (Bay-Delta Plan).
