Three New Associates Join Downey Brand

Downey Brand is pleased to announce that Jackeline Castro, Hardev Chhokar and Michael Minahan, all previous Downey Brand summer associates, have joined the firm as first-year associates.

Jackeline Castro is a member of the firm’s family law practice. She earned her Juris Doctor degree in 2016 from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. Prior to law school, after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, in political science from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio, she spent seven months in the Dominican Republic working for a non-profit focused on education. Born and raised in Cleveland, Jackeline is an avid Cleveland sports fan and enjoys playing sports, salsa dancing, and spending time with family.

Hardev Chhokar is a member of the firm’s litigation practice. He earned his Juris Doctor degree in 2016 from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served as editor of the Virginia Law and Business Review from 2014-2016. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, in psychology from the University of California, Berkeley in 2012. When not working, Hardev enjoys watching the Golden State Warriors, snowboarding and spending time with his friends and family.

Michael Minahan is a member of the firm’s litigation practice. He earned his Juris Doctor degree, magna cum laude, in 2016 from University of Notre Dame Law School and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in political science from Santa Clara University. While in law school he served as a student attorney in the Notre Dame Intellectual Property & Entrepreneurship Clinic and was managing senior editor of the Notre Dame Law Review. Outside of work, Mike enjoys spending time with his family and their Boston Terrier exploring the outdoors.
