Sandra Sava Returns to Downey Brand’s Litigation Practice

October 27, 2021

Downey Brand is pleased to welcome back Sandra L. Sava to the firm’s litigation practice.

Sandi returns to Downey Brand with more than 35 years of legal experience. Most recently, she was Of Counsel with Meissner Joseph Palley & Ruggles from 2006 until 2021. With a focus on litigation, half of her practice concentrated on trust and probate in various counties throughout California and the other half focused on business and employment litigation, personal injury (for both plaintiffs and defense), and insurance coverage. While working at the firm Jones & Dyer as an associate from 1993 until 1999, she was widely known for a civils rights violation defense case in Napa County that made it all the way to the Supreme Court. Sandi took her first deposition on her second day as an attorney and has taken, defended, or attended more than 3,000 depositions to date.

Sandi’s current practice mostly revolves around insurance coverage, personal injury, business torts, and trust disputes. In addition to her legal prowess, Sandi is conversational in both Spanish and German.

“I’ve had a strong business relationship with Downey Brand for years and continued to admire its professionalism, high standards, and team spirit. Being part of the firm again is the best thing for me and my clients,” said Sandi.

Sandi earned her J.D. in 1984 from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. Before attending law school, she received her B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley in 1980. Sandi is an avid outdoor cyclist and works with the Sacramento-based restaurant Scott’s Seafood on the River to host their annual “Bike to Scott’s” ride in support of Polio eradication.
