Helping Local Students Succeed Through Backpack Giveback

Downey Brand is proud to team up with United Way California Capital Region, CBS Sacramento, and Good Day Sacramento to support Backpack Giveback, an annual campaign that helps local students head back to school with the supplies they need to succeed.

Now through August 2, community members can drop off new backpacks (and school supplies) at designated locations throughout the region, including Downey Brand’s Sacramento and Stockton offices. For every backpack donated at either Downey Brand location, the firm will provide essential school supplies to match, helping make each contribution go even further.

This year, Downey Brand is excited to be one of four sponsors supporting Backpack Giveback and working with United Way, CBS Sacramento, and Good Day Sacramento to help spread the word throughout the Sacramento and Stockton region. As part of the campaign, Cody Stark of Good Day Sacramento’s Cody’s Caravan will visit sponsor locations, including a stop at Downey Brand’s Sacramento office on July 29, to spotlight the drive and the growing collection of donated backpacks.

After the drive wraps up, United Way will put all the backpacks and school supplies directly into the hands of local students and families during its Backpack Giveback Distribution Event on August 11 at Main Avenue Elementary School in the Robla School District.
