Downey Brand Welcomes Two New Associates to its Sacramento Office

Downey Brand is pleased to welcome new associates Tyler J. Horn and Wiemond Wu. Both were summer associates at the firm in 2017 and recently passed the California Bar.

A member of the firm’s litigation group, Horn has experience representing a diverse set of clients such as trade associations, agricultural partnerships, and public entities. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law where he served as Co-executive Chair for the Moot Court team and comment editor for The University of the Pacific Law Review. He also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Troy L. Nunley of the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of California. Prior to law school, Tyler attended San Diego State University where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.

Wiemond gained valuable experience conducting legal research while serving as a judicial extern for the Honorable Kimberly J. Mueller of the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of California. He earned his Juris Doctor, with great distinction, in 2018 from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where he earned high marks in oral advocacy and legal writing. He was recognized as the Top Oral Advocate and a Best Appellate Brief writer in the school-wide moot court competition. Wiemond also served as a staff writer and the Chief Comment Editor for The University of the Pacific Law Review. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Legal Studies (double major) from the University of California, Berkeley in 2014 where he was recognized for outstanding community service efforts. Wiemond’s practice focuses primarily in general litigation and regulatory compliance for various businesses and non-profit organizations.
