Downey Brand Welcomes New Litigation Attorney Michael J. Laino

Downey Brand is pleased to announce the addition of Michael Laino to the firm’s litigation team.
Laino excelled as a summer associate with Downey Brand in 2018. After his time in Downey Brand’s summer program, Michael went on to graduate second in his class from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law as well as complete an externship for the Honorable Consuelo Callahanin of the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit. Prior to joining Downey Brand’s summer program, Laino was well on his way to establishing his legal services career: he served as a Legal Process Clerk for the Superior Court of California, County of Yolo; worked as a paralegal for a mid-sized law firm based in Sacramento, representing clients throughout California; and gained valuable litigation experience as a Law Clerk at another mid-sized Sacramento law firm.
Laino earned his Juris Doctor, with great distinction, in 2019 from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law where he won numerous Witkin awards for consistently earning the highest score in his courses. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with an emphasis in legal studies and a minor in criminal justice from California State University, Chico in 2013.
