Downey Brand Names Two New Partners

Downey Brand  is delighted to announce that Kristin Capritto and Bradley Carroll have been elected to the firm partnership effective January 1, 2022.

Kristin has an impressive background in estate planning and administration with a special focus on charitable planning. She works with families and individuals to effectuate their wealth transfer and succession planning goals, in addition to providing advice and counsel to clients in connection with their real estate, business, and tax planning needs.

A respected attorney within the trusts and estates legal community, Kristin is also well regarded as a skilled mediator and negotiator. During her nearly two decade tenure of legal service, she has amassed more than 300 hours of mediation and negotiation training, and has participated in peace-building processes involving interpersonal conflicts and legal issues at both the community level and on an international scale.

In addition to her legal acumen, Kristin is a major proponent of pro bono work and has represented undocumented and unaccompanied minors in both immigration and guardianship proceedings, in addition to representing incarcerated individuals in civil rights litigation matters.

Bradley, who is based in the firm’s Sacramento office, represents clients throughout California in all phases of complex business litigation. Bradley works with businesses and individuals to achieve their goals before, during, and after litigation. Bradley regularly assists clients with resolving disputes before they proceed to formal litigation, but is always prepared to initiate and defend litigation actions in both state and federal courts, at all levels. Bradley has represented clients successfully both at trial and on appeal, where he works tirelessly to assist clients in all their endeavors.

Bradley gained critical experience while working as a staff attorney in Atlanta, Georgia at the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, where he handled a variety cases, including employment law, immigration, and constitutional law. This diversity of experience has proven critical to Bradley’s versatile litigation background and allows him to help clients from a wide variety of industries.

Along with Bradley’s brilliance as a litigator, he is the epitome of an animal lover, including his dog, Duff, and cats, CT and Monty. He is currently the treasurer of RedRover, a Sacramento-based animal rescue organization, and has held that position since 2018. Bradley is passionate about the humane treatment of all animals.
