Associates Put Downey Brand in its Place: One of the Top 10 Best Midsize Law Firms to Work For

Downey Brand is pleased to announce that it placed 8th in Vault’s inaugural rankings of the Best Midsize Law Firms to Work For. Downey Brand was one of four California law firms to make the list, which also included law firms in Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Denver, and Washington D.C.

The Best Midsize Law Firms to Work For rankings were derived from Vault’s Law Firm Associate Survey, in which associates were asked to rate their firms in several quality-of-life categories. The results were calculated using a formula that weighs associate ratings in 11 different areas:

25 percent overall satisfaction; 10 percent hours; 10 percent compensation; 10 percent business outlook; 10 percent substantive work; 10 percent culture; 5 percent associate/partner relations; 5 percent leadership transparency; 5 percent formal training; 5 percent informal training and mentoring; and 5 percent career outlook.
