During law school, Ryan displayed leadership and advocacy skills as the executive chair for the Moot Court Honors Board and was elected McGeorge School of Law Appellate Advocate of the Year. Additionally, Ryan served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Ronald B. Robie of the California Court of Appeal, Third Appellate District, in 2025.

Prior to entering the legal field, Ryan was a 4-year Division I baseball pitcher for UC Davis. Since then, Ryan continues to remain active, with his favorite hobbies outside of work being snowboarding, hiking, and golfing.
