Downey Brand water law partner Scott Shapiro will be moderating the workshop, “Why You Should Know About the National Levee Safety Program, Especially if You Don’t Have a Federally-authorized Levee,” on Thursday, September 7, 2023, during the Floodplain Management Association’s Annual Conference in Los Angeles (Sept 5-8,2023).
Presenters Jennifer Laux and Jamie McVicker from the National Levee Safety Program, US Army Corps of Engineers will provide an overview of the alignment of the National Levee Safety Program tools and resources with existing USACE programs, including Section 408, Public Law 84-99 Rehabilitation Program, the USACE Levee Safety Program, and levee vegetation management.
