Downey Brand Managing Partner Scott Shapiro will be presenting on the topic of Legal Issues in the Water Resources World at the National Waterways Conference’s (NWC) Regional Spotlight on June 1, 2021, from 5:00 to 6:00 PM.

Program Overview

The National Waterways Conference is hosting a free two-day virtual conference on June 1st and 2nd. This is the first time NWC has hosted a regional spotlight conference and they are starting with California. This is a great opportunity to learn more about civil works projects and hear from officials at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Click here to view a draft agenda, which includes a link to register. If you are interested in learning more about the Corps’ civil works mission for flood risk reduction, ecosystem restoration, navigation, and water supply, then this is the conference for you!

NWC is the only national organization that represents all of the entities that interface with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers including state and local governments, waterways shippers, carriers, farmers, flood control organizations, levee boards, port authorities, industry and regional associations, dredging contractors, water supply districts, hydropower producers, engineering consultants and more. The purpose of the Regional Spotlight is to create and/or strengthen connections, not only with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers but with each other.
