Join Downey Brand partner and water law attorney Scott Shapiro at 10:30 am on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at the California Central Valley Flood Control Association’s 2023 Flood Forum. Alongside a panel of flood protection experts and legislative leaders, Scott will moderate an interactive discussion regarding funding mechanisms to mitigate against a changing climate. This presentation follows a keynote address by Dr. Daniel Swain, climate scientist at the UCLA Institute of Environmental Sustainability. Dr. Swain will discuss how climate change is affecting regional climate extremes, including the atmospheric processes responsible for drought, flood, and wildfire. The forum will conclude with a luncheon to allow networking opportunities for attendees.
