An Uncertain Future: How the Potential Clawback Muddies the Estate and Gift Tax Waters

Downey Brand attorney Kristin Capritto will travel to Washington D.C. as a member of the Taxation Section of the California Lawyers Association’s (formerly the State Bar of California) 2018 DC Delegation to present a paper she co-authored entitled, An Uncertain Future: How the Potential Clawback Muddies the Estate and Gift Tax Waters.  As part of the DC Delegation, she will meet with the Internal Revenue Service, the Department of Treasury, the Joint Committee on Taxation, and the Senate Finance Committee to present topics on issues of concern to California tax practitioners.

Kristin’s paper, which focuses on potential inequities and ambiguities taxpayers face with respect to the recent changes to the estate and gift tax scheme under the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, will also be published in California Tax Lawyer.
