Join us for our Annual Employment Law Briefing in person on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. Downey Brand employment law attorneys will provide an overview of significant legal developments in California and federal employment law, including a review of employment-related legislation and recent court decisions impacting employers in 2024 and onward. Topics discussed will include:
- Expansion of employee leave laws, including increased paid sick leave (SB 616) and new protections for reproductive loss (SB 848)
- Updates regarding arbitration agreements and noncompete agreements (SB 699, AB 1076)
- New discrimination/retaliation laws, including protections for cannabis users (SB 700) and new presumptions of liability (SB 497)
- Wage and hour updates, including minimum wage increases and remote work expense reimbursements.
HR professionals, business owners, in-house counsel, office managers, and front-line supervisors are encouraged to attend.
