Downey Brand Welcomes the 2019 Summer Associate Class

Downey Brand is excited to announce the arrival of its summer associates. This year’s group of talented students is working in the firm’s Sacramento and San Francisco offices where they will be exposed to a variety of challenging legal work while working alongside associates and partners alike.

Meet our 2019 Summer Associates:

Tatiana Bush is a first year student at the University of California, Davis School of Law. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology from the University of California, Davis. She worked for a few years as a senior paralegal for Moebes Law, and simultaneously as a substitute teacher for KIPP Strive Academy, a public charter school, in Atlanta, Georgia. She is participating in the firm’s summer program by way of the Sacramento County Bar Diversity Fellowship Program. Tatiana is based in the firm’s Sacramento office.

Katlyn Holmes is a second year student at the University of California, Davis School of Law. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting/Tax from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Previous work experience includes a position as a legal intern at Delicato Family Vineyards and several years’ experience as an agricultural salesperson at Delta Blue Blueberries. Katlyn is based in the firm’s Sacramento office.

Alexandra Lizano is a second year student at Texas A&M University School of Law. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Policy Analysis and Planning from the University of California, Davis. She most recently worked as a research fellow for the National Agriculture Law Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and spent her 1L summer as a summer law clerk at the United States Department of Justice, Environment and Natural Resources Division, in Sacramento. Alexandra enjoys international travel and completed the Nike Women’s San Francisco Half Marathon in 2015. She is based in the firm’s San Francisco office.

Dylan Soares is a second year student at Harvard Law School. He earned a Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude, in BioResource and Agricultural Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Dylan’s 1L summer was spent working as a summer law clerk in the Environmental Protection Agency Office of the General Counsel in Washington, D.C. He counts among his interests traveling the U.S., agriculture, cooking, downhill skiing, and baseball. Dylan is based in the firm’s Sacramento office.

Holly Tokar is a second law student at the University of Colorado Law School. She earned a Bachelor of Science, summa cum laude, in Managerial Economics from the University of California, Davis. Holly spent her 1L summer working as a law clerk in the Fort Collins City Attorney’s Office in Colorado. Her interests include road races, classic card games, and podcasts. Holly is based in the firm’s Sacramento office.

Paul Tracy is a second year student at the University of California, Davis School of Law. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Management from the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Paul spent his 1L year as a judicial extern for The Honorable Kimberly Mueller at the United States District Court, Eastern District of California. He also worked previously for Deloitte Consulting LLP as a senior consultant in strategy & operations. Paul’s U.S. Air Force experience includes positions as a pilot and flight commander, and as a flight instructor. His interests include travel, DIY home improvement, racquetball, and squash. Paul is based in the firm’s Sacramento office.

Megan Unger is a second year student at the University of California, Hastings School of law. She earned a Bachelor of Arts, with a double major in Women’s Studies and Environmental Studies, from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. Megan’s work experience includes a 1L summer as a summer law clerk at the San Francisco Human Rights Commission, and a prior position as a national compliance political reporting specialist at Nielsen Merksamer Parrinello Gross & Leoni in San Rafael. She counts stand up paddle boarding, podcasts, rock climbing, and documentaries among her interests. Megan is based in the firm’s San Francisco office.
