BCDC Approves New Schedule for Finalizing and Adopting
Climate Change Amendment to the SF Bay Plan
The San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission (BCDC) was created in the 1960s to address the conservation and development needs of San Francisco Bay.
In the last few years, BCDC has taken a lead role in preparing the SF Bay Area for the effects of climate change and sea level rise. In April 2009, BCDC staff issued a groundbreaking report on the issues related to sea level rise, and proposed a set of far-reaching amendments to the SF Bay Plan. If the amendments are adopted, they could have a profound effect on development in the SF Bay Area for decades to come.
This Update is part of a series of periodic updates on developments related to BCDC’s proposal to amend the SF Bay Plan.
On April 21, 2011, BCDC adopted a new schedule for finalizing and adopting its proposed Climate Change Amendment to the SF Bay Plan.
