Two Downey Brand Attorneys Earn JD Supra’s 2019 Readers’ Choice Awards

Downey Brand is pleased to announce that Leila C. Bruderer and Patrick F. Veasy have been recognized as Top Authors in the JD Supra 2019 Readers’ Choice Awards in the categories of Food & Beverage and Product Liability. Further, their article, Brewing Debate in California Proposition 65 Coffee Action Coming to a Close was one of five Top-Read articles in JD Supra’s Food & Beverage category.

Leila serves as counsel in the firm’s environmental litigation practice. She specializes in compliance and litigation challenges arising from California’s Proposition 65, as well as other state and federal hazardous waste laws and regulations. She advises clients in matters ranging from complex multi-party lawsuits to government enforcement actions. She earned her J.D. from Loyola Law School in 2005 and her B.A. from UCLA in 2000.

Patrick is a senior associate and his practice also focuses on environmental litigation. He guides both public and private sector clients through complex environmental compliance and enforcement matters. He represents clients before state agency hearing boards, as well as before state and federal courts. Patrick earned his J.D. from UC Hastings College of the Law in 2014 and his B.A. from the University of Michigan in 2009.
