Ryan Reed Joins Downey Brand’s Employment Counseling and Litigation Group

Downey Brand is pleased to welcome associate Ryan Reed to the firm’s employment counseling and litigation group.

Ryan’s current practice encompasses a wide array of employment matters, from compliance counseling to defending employers in administrative proceedings, arbitration, and civil litigation. Ryan comes to Downey Brand from Colantuono, Highsmith & Whatley, PC (“CHW”) where, as senior counsel, he represented public agencies throughout California on a wide range of municipal law matters, with a focus on labor & employment. With CHW, Ryan served as city attorney of Weed, as assistant city attorney of Auburn and Grass Valley, and as assistant town attorney of Yountville. Prior to his tenure at CHW, Ryan gained valuable experience as a law clerk for both the United States Agency for International Development and the United States Office of Special Counsel. He also worked in Washington, D.C. as a summer associate for Dentons, LLP.

Ryan received his J.D., cum laude, at Georgetown University Law Center in 2018. Prior to law school, he earned his B.A. at the University of California, Davis in 2015.
