Downey Brand is pleased to announce that firm partner Liz Stallard has been appointed President of the Board of Trustees for the Sacramento Zoological Society. Liz will serve as president for a period of three years, effective January 2018.
Liz has served on the nonprofit board for the last eight years. As president, she will lead the board in setting policy, governing, and raising funds for the Sacramento Zoo in support of the zoo’s mission – to inspire a connection to wildlife and nature through education, recreation, and conservation.
“The zoo recently celebrated its 90th birthday in June 2017, and we have big plans for the years ahead,” said Liz. “I am thrilled to be taking on my role as president at this critical time in our zoo’s history and helping lay the groundwork for its bright and prosperous future.”
Liz is a partner in the firm’s employment law practice. She has counseled management in all aspects of employment law and defended employers in complex employment and business matters for 16 years. She advises both public agencies and private employers on a full range of workplace management issues and has long and demonstrated record of successful and effective advocacy in front of state and federal courts in both California and Nevada, including serving as lead trial counsel in both states.
