My Tien T. Doan

Associate

My Tien Doan brings passion and skilled advocacy to assist clients in complex family law matters.

Every legal matter is important but those involving family are personal and require compassionate yet vigorous representation. My Tien advises clients on a wide variety of family law issues and applies her strong advocacy skills and history of obtaining successful outcomes to further her clients’ goals throughout each step of the litigation process.

Before joining Downey Brand’s family law practice, My Tien worked in the Office of Legal Affairs for Governors Gavin Newsom and Edmund G. Brown Jr. and served as a legal intern for several non-profit organizations, including the Children’s Law Center of California and Legal Services of Northern California to name a few.

While in law school, My Tien successfully argued an expulsion appeal, represented children in dependency hearings, and negotiated a wrongful termination complaint in her Negotiations and Settlement course. Upon completion of the course, My Tien received the Witkin Award for Highest Academic Performance. She further sharpened her oral advocacy skills by competing in her law school’s nationally ranked Moot Court program and participating in her law school’s Final Four oral argument competition where she was a finalist for Top Oral Advocate.
