Adam P. Pearse

Senior Associate

Adam Pearse uses a thorough analytical approach to attain positive outcomes for his clients facing complex environmental law issues.

Adam represents a variety of public and private sector clients in environmental litigation in both state and federal courts. He typically assists clients in matters involving federal and state natural resources issues, including water quality, environmental defense, the Clean Water Act, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA).

In addition, he defends clients from enforcement actions brought on by state water boards. Adam also represents clients in environmental site remediation issues and toxic tort litigation, including those under California’s Proposition 65. Adam represents utility clients in a broad variety of matters as well.

While in law school, Adam furthered his legal acumen while participating in several extracurricular activities, such as the Tulane Environmental Law Journal and the Tulane Moot Court Board. After law school and before joining Downey Brand, Adam worked at several nonprofits in Washington, D.C.

Adam has volunteered as a high school football coach and as a helping hand at community gardens. Adam and his wife enjoy taking weekend road trips all over California to enjoy the outdoors with their rescue dog. Adam is an avid guitar player, cook, and baker of sourdough bread.
