Presenter, Water Education Foundation Water 101 Workshop

Downey Brand partner Rebecca Smith will be presenting at the Water Education Foundation’s 2020 Water 101 Workshop on February 20th at McGeorge School of Law. A variety of California water management policy experts and professionals will offer a deep dive into the basics of California water history, geography, law and policy.  Speakers will present on important issues related to the Delta, the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act, Gov. Newsom’s draft Water Resilience Portfolio, impacts to water resources from climate change and more.

Becky’s presentation, Legal and Institutional Management Framework, will cover water management institutions and regulatory agencies in California and their respective roles as well as offer a summary of governing laws at both the state and federal levels.
