Mid-Year Employer Update: Mental Health and the Workplace

June 18, 2015

Co-presenter, Downey Brand Employment Law Seminar

Reasonable accommodation and leaves of absence can be particularly challenging where an employee is struggling with mental health, addiction, or violence issues. Downey Brand’s employment attorneys will lead an interactive discussion about ensuring accommodation, privacy, and safety while complying with the myriad of state and federal laws that apply.
Topics will include:
  • Review of Federal and State Laws (ADA, FMLA, Rehabilitation Act, FEHA, CFRA)
  • Discuss common issues for employers dealing with employees with mental disability issues (Reasonable Accommodations, Discipline, Direct Threat, Leave of Absences, Fitness for Duty)
  • Learn effective methods to identify issues and how to implement practical solutions
Please join us for a lively discussion about this critical issue.
Who should attend:
Executives, Human Resource Professionals, In-House Counsel, Business Owners, Front-Line Supervisors and Office Managers.
