October 29, 2018

Downey Brand is pleased to announce that two partners were recognized as 2018 40 Under 40 honorees by the Sacramento Business Journal: Meghan M. Baker and Tyson E. Hubbard.

Each year, a panel of independent judges evaluate nominees—all professionals under the age of 40—based on their accomplishments in the workplace, leadership qualities, and civic service.

Meghan is a talented litigator with a wide range of experience in complex litigation. She has successfully represented clients in diverse matters including business, commercial, employment, real estate, probate, and construction. Meghan has represented many family-owned businesses in legal disputes, and also supports family businesses by serving on the Programs Committee of the Capital Region Family Business Center. Additionally, Meghan serves as hiring partner for Downey Brand, working with law schools, students, and recruiters to find and advance the best legal talent. Meghan has been rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell, recognized as Best of the Bar by the Sacramento Business Journal, and named a Super Lawyers Rising Star.

Personal experience as a trustee of a family trust for his cousins led Tyson to focus his litigation practice in the area of trusts and estates, and he now assists families, trustees, and administrators statewide as they navigate the emotionally-charged experience of a trust or estate dispute. Tyson contributes to the blog Trust on Trial, which highlights issues and changes in estate and trust regulation so that readers can be more informed and proactive. In addition to his work commitments, Tyson serves as vice chair of the Sacramento Bar Association Probate and Estate Planning Section; is Chair of the City of Davis Recreation and Park Commission; and volunteers with Social Venture Partners of Sacramento. Tyson has been recognized as a Top Lawyer by Sacramento Magazine, and has also been named a Super Lawyers Rising Star in both Massachusetts and Northern California.

Meghan, Tyson and the other exceptional 40 Under 40 honorees are featured in the October 5, 2018 supplement published by the Sacramento Business Journal.
