Downey Brand Welcomes Four New Associates

Downey Brand is pleased to announce that four first-year associates have joined the firm. Austin Cho, Anna Padgett, Karina Stanhope (all previous Downey Brand summer associates), and Joshua Stoops will be working in the firm’s Sacramento office.

Austin Cho is a member of the firm’s water law practice. He received his J.D. from the University of California at Davis School of Law in 2015 and his B.A. from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 2006.  In his free time, Austin enjoys painting, drawing, bowling, and playing a variety of musical instruments (guitar, flute, clarinet, and harmonica).

Anna Padgett is a member of the firm’s employment law practice. She received her J.D. with great distinction from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 2015 and her B.A. from the University of California at Davis in 2012. In her free time, Anna enjoys getting outdoors to go hiking or backpacking with her dog, a corgi named Dany. She also has a love for travelling, having traveled throughout Europe, and is looking forward to her next destination.

Karina Stanhope is a member of the firm’s litigation practice. She received her J.D. from Duke University School of Law in 2015 and her B.A. with honors from the University of California at Davis in 2012. Outside of work, Karina can be found hiking and camping along the Pacific Coast with her husband and their two dogs in tow.

Joshua Stoops is a member of the firm’s environmental law practice. He received his J.D. from the University of California at Davis School of Law in 2015 and his B.A. from the University of Oklahoma in 2010. When he is not cheering for or complaining about the Oklahoma Sooners, Josh enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter and getting caught up on his honey-do list.
