2008 Summer Associates
MONICA BAUMANN
is a second year student at the University of California, Davis. She
received her B.A. in Political Science, with honors, from Ohio State
University in 2006. Monica’s previous work experience includes
tutoring students at UC Davis; researching topics for Professor Lisa
Pruitt at UC Davis; and, classroom teaching in Columbus, OH and Davis,
CA.
SPENCER CHRISTENSEN is a second year student at the
University of Utah, S.J. Quinney College of Law. He received his B.S.
in Economics from Brigham Young University in 2005. His previous work
experience includes clerking at Pite Duncan LLP in El Cajon, CA; working
with Fidelity Investments as a Licensed Financial Representative in
Salt Lake City; and, managing Cottonwood Landscapes.
LESLIE FREDRICKSON is a second year student at the
University of Minnesota Law School. She received her B.A. in English
Literature from Western Washington University in 2004. Leslie's previous
work experience includes being a judicial extern for the Honorable Robert
A. Blaeser; legal interning for the ACLU; and, being an Autism Care
Provider and Tutor in Silver Springs, MD.
MATT GARFINKLE is a second year student at the University
of California, Hastings College of the Law. He received his B.A. in
Political Science and his B.A. in Criminology from the University of
California, Irvine in 2004. Matt's previous work experience includes
clerking for the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office; Legal Assistant
for the Law Offices of Steven Stern; and, volunteering with the Orange
County Public Defender's Office.
JEREMIAH HARVEY is a first year student at the University
of California, Davis. He received his B.A. in Law and Society with a
Minor in the Classics from the University of California, Santa Barbara
in 2007. Jeremiah's previous work experience includes assisting disabled
students at UCSB; Residential Director and Advisor at the Fontainebleu
Dormitory; and, assistant managing/landscaping for Davis Landscaping.
STEVE HYMAS is a second year student at the University
of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. He received his MBA in Technology
Specialization in 2004, his B.A. in Accounting in 1997, and his B.S.
in Computer Information Systems in 1997, all from Arizona State University.
His previous work experience includes Technical Supervisor with Perot
Systems; Information Director with Elite PC; and, Application Developer
with Ambersun Productions.
JULIANNE KAY is a second year student at the University
of California, Hastings College of the Law. She received her B.S. in
Psychology from the University of California at San Diego in 2005. Julianne's
previous work experience includes being a Student Advisor at the Sacramento
Small Claims Advisory Clinic; Office Assistant for the Law Office of
Laury M. Baldwin; and, Billing Assistant for Advanced Radiology.
JULIA MELNICOE is a second year student at Cornell
Law School. She received her B.A. in Global Economics and Environmental
Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Julia's previous
work experience includes being a Legal Intern for the Assembly Committee
on Water, Parks & Wildlife; and, being a Case Processor for the
First District Appellate Project.
PRESTON MORGAN is a second year student at the University
of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. He received his MFA in Acting
from the American Conservatory Theater in 1997 and his B.A. in Theater
Arts from Occidental College in 1994. Preston's previous work experience
includes being a Teaching Assistant to Professor Ed Telfeyan; Legal
Interning for the Yolo County Public Defender's Office as well as producing
and acting in New York and San Francisco.
AMANDA PEARSON is a second year student at the University
of California, Davis School of Law. She received her B.A. in Philosophy
from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2005. Amanda's previous
work experience includes being a Legal Intern for the California Department
of Food and Agriculture; a Volunteer Intern for the Office of the District
Attorney – Santa Barbara County; and coaching the Novice Women
crew team at UCSB.
RAMAAH SADASIVAM is a second year student at the University
of California, Davis School of Law. She received her MA in Sociology
from Tulane University in 2006 and her B.A. in History with Minors in
Spanish and Latin American Studies, Summa Cum Laude, from the University
of Tennessee in 2003. Ramaah's previous work experience includes Summer
Associate at Stoel Rives LLP; a Legal Aid volunteer with the New Orleans
Legal Assistance Center; and, Legal Aid Volunteer with California Rural
Legal Assistance Foundation.
ERIC WASIK is a second year student at the University
of Oregon School of Law. He received his B.A. in Anthropology and American
Studies for the University of Iowa in 2005. Eric's previous work experience
includes Externing for the Hon. Lauren S. Holland; and, Sales and Service
Manager for Rapids Reproductions.
LAUREN YIP is a second year student at the University
of San Diego School of Law. She received her B.A. in Psychology and
Communications from the University of California, Davis in 2003. Lauren's
previous work experience includes clerking for the Employment Mediation
and Litigation Services; an autistic skills trainer for Hawaii Behavioral
Health; and, an assistant Strategist for OMD.
