Energy Associate
The firm's Energy, Land Use and Mining Practice Group seeks an associate with between 4-5 years of experience with energy law to join its Sacramento office (candidates must have graduated from law school and passed the bar exam in 2006 or prior to 2006). This position will involve representation of private and public sector clients in a broad range of matters including advocacy before administrative agencies, due diligence for financing and acquisitions, and contract review.

The successful candidate will have experience in the areas of energy and climate change. Familiarity with practice before the California Energy Commission, California Public Utilities Commission, California Air Resources Board as well as other state and federal resource agencies is desired. Associate salaries are based on years of experience and bonus consideration is given for productivity and/or performance.

All candidates must have a distinguished academic record and have exceptional research, writing, and interpersonal communication skills. Must be a current, active member of the California Bar Association. Please send cover letter, resume, transcript and writing sample to Maureen Cooper.

Water Associate
The firm's Water Practice Group seeks an associate attorney with 2 to 4 years of experience to join its Sacramento office. (Candidates must have graduated from law school and passed the bar exam in 2008 or prior to 2008.)

This position involves representation of public and private sector clients statewide in a broad range of water-related issues including water rights, water supply, flood control law, federal reclamation law, public agency law, and California Environmental Quality Act compliance. Knowledge and/or experience with transactional water law is desired, and water litigation experience is a plus. Associate salaries are based on years of experience and bonus consideration is given for productivity and/or performance.
