Practice focuses on a variety of environmental law matters, with an emphasis on environmental litigation, including toxic tort defense, federal Resource Conservation and Recovery Act enforcement actions, and cost recovery actions, and air quality, hazardous waste, and environmental diligence.

Represented clients in negotiations with state and federal environmental agencies, including the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Toxic Substances Control, air quality management districts, regional water quality control boards in the context of hazardous waste management, air quality, soil and groundwater cleanup.

Experience

Counseled various clients on environmental issues in corporate and real estate transactions.

Served as environmental counsel for a major retailer, advising them on a broad range of state and federal environmental matters.

Defended a major retailer against allegations of Resource Conservation and Recovery Act and Clean Water Act violations.

Defended a rocket manufacturer against toxic tort claims.

Defended a major retailer against regulatory actions based upon air quality violations, and successfully negotiated settlement.

Advised a technology company regarding a Department of Toxic Substances Control Site Closure Decision, and asserting a challenge to that decision.

Advised a major port operator regarding environmental conditions in a potential transaction
