Assisted in drafting a reply brief in a case challenging a wastewater discharge permit with effluent limits based on the Regional Water Resources Control Board's blanket designation of tributaries' beneficial uses.

Researched and analyzed permits and the chain of correspondence between the California Underground Storage Tank Cleanup Trust Fund and our client to determine whether the Fund's eligibility determination was accurate.

Assisted in drafting a petition for review of a Regional Board order requiring technical and monitoring program reports under the California Water Code.

Advised members of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Resources on legislative matters within the Committee's jurisdiction, including:

Fisheries and wildlife, including restoration, refuges and conservation; International fishing agreements;
Marine affairs, including coastal zone management; and
Interstate compacts relating to apportionment of waters for irrigation.

Represented the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Resources during legislative and policy negotiations and discussions.

Assisted in the formulation of policy alternatives for matters within the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Resources' jurisdiction.

Carried out legislative and oversight activities related to matters before the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Resources, including: issue research; monitoring of legislation; legislative planning; meeting with individuals, interest groups and Administration officials; responding to inquiries regarding legislation; assisting in the conduct of and attending hearings; preparing legislative-related statements; preparing bill reports; and writing and reviewing legislative memoranda.

Collaborated with the seafood and shipping industries to study and mitigate the effects of invasive species in the Chesapeake Bay.
