Panelist, California State Bar Environmental Law Section MCLE Conference

Downey Brand attorneys Andrea Clark and Arielle Harris are presenting at the California State Bar, Environmental Section's MCLE conference, "Northcoast 'Your Voice, Your Future' – Rivers, Tribes, Cannabis and Environmental Change" on November 3, 2017 in Eureka.

Andrea Clark is co-presenting on a panel, "AB 52 and a New Era in Tribal Engagement on Environmental Review and Regulation," which will examine the legal requirements and other important considerations for tribal and cultural resources under federal and state law for public and private projects.

Arielle Harris is moderating two panels: (1) "Addressing Housing Issues in the Coastal Zone," which will begin with an overview of the Coastal Act and will then focus on recent developments with respect to Coastal Commission regulation of housingrelated issues, including permitting for homeless shelters, affordable housing, and short-term rentals in the Coastal Zone; and (2) "The Evolving Role of State Law in the Protection of Stream and Surrounding Resources," which will address the evolving regulatory protections for watercourses, and their application to new challenges, including cannabis regulation.
