February 1, 2022

Downey Brand is pleased to announce that Alexandra Lizano, an associate in the firm’s environmental law practice, has been selected to join the Environmental Law Institute’s Emerging Leaders Initiative (ELI ELI), a program designed to connect, support, and foster dialogue amongst the next generation of rising stars in environmental law and policy.

Ally is joining the third-ever cohort of Emerging Leaders, comprised of 39 members from varying backgrounds in corporate, government, NGO, and private practice across the United States.

“ELI’s leadership and expertise in environmental law and policy make it an invaluable resource, especially for more junior practitioners,” said Ally. “I am excited and honored to be selected for ELI ELI and contribute to the field in this way.”

Ally is a 2020 graduate from Texas A&M University where she earned her J.D. magna cum laude after receiving her B.A. in Environmental Policy Analysis and Planning from the University of California, Davis. Since joining Downey Brand, first as a Summer Associate in 2019 and then as an Associate in 2020, Ally has represented clients in complex environmental cases with a focus on environmental compliance counseling including matters involving Regional Water Quality Control Boards, environmental litigation in state and federal courts, and Proposition 65 compliance and litigation.
