Shankar Nair is a registered patent attorney with a software engineering background. He has extensive experience with a variety of different technologies and focuses his practice on both domestic and foreign intellectual property matters.
Prior to joining Downey Brand, Shankar worked at a Silicon Valley patent firm where he prepared, drafted and prosecuted patent applications pertaining to computer software, computer hardware, signal processing, e-commerce, business methods, and mechanical devices for several prominent technology companies as well as startup companies. His legal experience also includes working as a student extern for the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences at the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Shankar has professional experience in the wireless and financial services industries where he worked as a software engineer for several years and was responsible for the creation of quality assurance automation scripts, as well as build and deployment scripts.
Downey Brand is particularly sensitive to the privacy of its clients, thus the patent law group does not discuss specific clients or case results.
