Blake Gibbs Joins Downey Brand’s Family Law Practice

Downey Brand is happy to welcome associate Blake Gibbs to the firm’s leading family law practice.

Blake’s current practice encompasses family law issues involving dissolution of marriage, legal separation, nullity, adoption, child custody, prenuptial, postnuptial and cohabitation agreements, writs, and appeals. He joins the firm from Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, where he conducted research and initial case evaluations for personal injury and professional liability matters. In addition to this role, Blake gained legal experience as a legal extern on two separate occasions in the San Francisco-Bay Area, first as a corporate counsel extern at Alameda Health System and later as a judicial extern for Unified Family Court. Before entering the legal field, Blake held a successful career as a sales representative for a medical device manufacturer, where, in 2017 he achieved the highest growth in revenue out of all sales representatives nationwide.

Blake earned his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2021. Prior to law school, Blake received his B.S. in Business Administration and Marketing from California State University, Chico and also played Division I baseball for two years at Oregon State University.
